Job description:Requisition Number: 23361BRDescription:We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and contractors working on stormwater drainage projects.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement safety policies and procedures for stormwater drainage projects in accordance with company and industry standardsConduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulationsProvide safety training and orientation to new employees and contractorsInvestigate and report on any safety incidents or near misses, and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrencesMaintain accurate records of safety training, inspections, and incidentsCollaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure safety measures are integrated into project plans and schedulesStay updated on industry best practices and regulations related to stormwater drainage safetyParticipate in safety meetings and communicate safety-related information to project teamsProactively identify and address potential safety issues and provide recommendations for improvementQualifications:Qualifications:Minimum of 10-years of experience in a safety role, preferably in the construction, engineering industry or related field.Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related fieldKnowledge of safety regulations and standards related to stormwater drainage projectsCertification in NEBOSH General/ Construction Certificate or equivalent, OSHAD - Qudorat official RegistrationAbout Stantec:We’re active members of the communities we serve.
