- A minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience in an AML, CFT, or KYC role, preferably within the financial services, fintech, or gaming industries.
- A Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, Criminology, or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of international AML/CFT standards and regulatory requirements.
- Hands-on experience with KYC/CDD/EDD processes, transaction monitoring systems, and sanctions screening tools.
- Proven ability to analyze data, identify suspicious activities, and conduct thorough investigations.
- Excellent analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate clear and concise investigation findings.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global team environment.
- High ethical standards and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Professional certification such as ACAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Perform initial and ongoing KYC checks on new and existing customers according to internal policies and international standards.
- Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) on high-risk customers, including PEPs (Politically Exposed Persons) and those from high-risk jurisdictions, documenting findings and risk assessments comprehensively.
- Review and verify customer identification documents and information using internal and third-party tools.
- Manage the periodic review cycle for existing customer profiles to ensure all information is current and accurate.
- Monitor customer transactions to detect and identify suspicious activity, patterns, and red flags.
- Investigate and analyze alerts generated by the transaction monitoring system, thoroughly documenting the rationale for escalating or closing alerts.
- Prepare detailed and well-written Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) or Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) for submission to the MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) and relevant authorities.
- Perform screening of customers against global sanctions lists, PEP lists, and adverse media alerts.
- Analyze and disposition potential matches, escalating true hits to senior compliance staff for review.
- Assist in the continuous risk assessment of customers and contribute to the overall AML risk assessment framework of the company.
- Stay current with international AML/CFT regulations and best practices (e.g., FATF recommendations).
- Assist in responding to inquiries from regulatory bodies and law enforcement.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of AML/KYC policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all AML/KYC reviews, investigations, and decisions.
