Reports to: Maintenance Planning Engineer – Mechanical SystemsJob PurposeTo ensure that the mechanical systems in newly built or acquired facilities are safe, reliable, and easy to operate and maintain over the long term. This includes reviewing the design, overseeing construction, testing, and ensuring everything is ready before operations begin.Key Responsibilities1. Design Review
- Review design drawings and technical documents to identify any issues with maintenance and operation.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements.
- Sign off on key design documents such as layouts, diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- Participate in safety and project review meetings.
- Inspect installations on-site to ensure they match design expectations.
- Report any issues and propose solutions.
- Approve changes and inspection schedules.
- Sign off on documents during construction.
- Attend or witness system tests to ensure performance matches the design.
- Identify and resolve any performance issues.
- Approve training plans and commissioning procedures.
- Inspect and address any deficiencies (snags) in the system before handover.
- Sign off on completion documents, including acceptance certificates, as-built drawings, warranties, and asset registers.
- Oversee final acceptance during the defect liability period.

- Follow internal policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Ensure all activities meet health, safety, environmental, and energy standards.
- Education:
- District cooling facilities, or
- Other industrial utilities include thermal energy, power, or water systems.
- Expertise in plant operations and maintenance
- Ability to conduct field inspections and implement improvements
- Strong technical review capabilities
- Drafting of SOPs, emergency response plans, and safe work procedures
- Conducting Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
