We are working with a global leading shipping company to find a highly skilled and experienced Shipping Operator to join their dynamic dry bulk team based in Dubai. This position requires a minimum of 7 years' experience in the shipping industry, with a strong focus on the Atlantic and Indian Ocean regions, as well as other regions as required.Responsibilities:Provide instructions to vessels, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with regulationsCoordinate bunker calculation and stemming with bunker departmentAppoint agents and surveyors as necessary to ensure timely operationsOversee invoicing of freight and charter hire, ensuring accuracy and compliancePrepare documentation and ensure they are completed and submitted as requiredPrepare final freight statements, ensuring all data is accurate and completed on timePerform laytime calculations and ensure that all terms are adhered toEnsure optimum turn-around times for vessels in port, minimizing delays and maximizing efficiencyMaintain up-to-date information in IT system for vessels operatedManage cost control, ensuring operational expenses are minimized and within budgetRequirements:Minimum 7 years' experience in shipping operations, specifically within dry bulkExpertise in the Atlantic and Indian Ocean regionsStrong understanding of vessel operations, including chartering, invoicing, and laytime calculationsProven track record in managing vessel instructions, bunker calculations, and freight invoicingExcellent communication skills to coordinate with various stakeholders including agents, surveyors, and port authoritiesProficiency in shipping and port operations softwareAbility to maintain high attention to detail and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyStrong cost management and optimization skills
