Let’s shape the future of wealth management together.OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLEThe job profile is an investment advisory role with a primary focus to drive business growth and ensure high-quality investment advice is delivered to clients in the newly established Abu Dhabi office in ADGM. In addition to managing your own client portfolios, this role also acts as the main point of contact for clients, RMs and branch management for all investment-related topics.You will be teaming up with Relationship Managers (RMs) in prospecting new clients, managing existing client portfolios, and ensuring retention by providing holistic investment and portfolio advice across all asset classes and products. The incumbent shall build highly effective relationships across the Bank to maintain and improve knowledge of the business and its latest products and services to optimise services to clients.You will also act as GPS’ ambassador inside and outside the Bank, building and maintaining relationships with internal as well as external stakeholders.The role requires a sound understanding of local Compliance and risk management frameworks.
Furthermore, you will be one of the primary contacts for RMs in advisory matters in Abu Dhabi, including scalable advisory service models, possessing a collaborative approach to position bank’s offerings and discretionary solutions to clients.This role reports to the Head CC&A Middle East.YOUR CHALLENGEDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESClient Advisory & Relationship Management:
  • Key interface function between RMs in Abu Dhabi and the Investment Advisory Team within CC&A (both regionally and globally)
  • Ambassador of the Julius Baer Value Proposition
  • Joining client meetings as an investment specialist and supporting the front with proposals and holistic portfolio ideas
  • Providing active support in acquisition and retention of mandate solutions (Discretionary and Advisory Mandates)
  • Holistic business development and active collaboration with different competence centres, regionally and globally (Investment Management and various GPS units including Investment Specialist, Wealth Planning)
  • Partner with RMs and various internal stakeholders to deliver quality advisory, improve profitability and share-of-wallet
  • Collaborate, build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, RMs and various other internal stakeholders
Business Development & Growth:
  • Team up with RMs to identify business opportunities, acquire and expand client base in the region and especially in the newly established office in ADGM
  • Drive AUM growth by acquiring new clients and representing the team to deepen existing relationships
  • Collaborate with various specialist team to promote investment solutions of the bank
Compliance & Risk Management:
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal compliance policies
  • Practise vigilance to minimize operational errors
  • Establish risk tolerance and best asset allocation strategy in cooperation with clients
YOUR PROFILE
  • Extensive (8-10+ years) professional experience in banking and finance, preferably in Investment Advisory, Discretionary Portfolio Management or Asset Management
Ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders in a highly articulate and professional mannerExcellent interpersonal skills, empathic personality, charisma, power of persuasionDrive for resultsAbility to relate to clients and colleagues from diverse backgroundsStrong ability for planning, organising and communicating a clear visionGood judgement and ability to work under pressureUniversity Degree or Apprenticeship/High School Diploma, preferably in Economics or FinanceFurther education in financial markets (CFA, CAIA, etc.) is an assetGenuine passion for financial markets with good knowledge in all asset classes and financial products (alternatives, funds, structured products, etc.)Knowledge in all applicable regulatory requirements / regimesLanguagesMandatory: English (excellent written and oral skills)Additional languages (including Arabic) would be an assetFinancial information tools (knowledge e.g. Reuters/Eikon, Bloomberg)We are looking forward to receiving your full job application through our online application tool.
