- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items under the guidance of senior chefs.
- Follow kitchen recipes, portion controls, and plating specifications for all menu items with consistency.
- Carry out basic food preparation tasks, including chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients.
- Maintain high levels of hygiene and cleanliness throughout all kitchen areas, adhering strictly to HACCP and food safety policies.
- Support kitchen colleagues during service to ensure the smooth and efficient running of daily operations.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating deliveries, ensuring products are correctly handled and stock levels are maintained.
- Clean and set up workstations, utensils, and equipment before and after service, ensuring all kitchen areas remain organised and hazard-free.
- Comply with health and safety regulations, reporting any maintenance or hygiene issues to supervisors promptly.
- Show willingness to take on additional tasks and help other kitchen sections as required during busy periods.
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen as a Commis Chef or in a similar food preparation role is an advantage but not essential.
- Demonstrated interest in the culinary industry, food trends, and developing new skills.
- Basic knowledge of food safety, kitchen hygiene, and allergen management.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with a positive and adaptable attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work efficiently under pressure.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and evenings as required.
