Technical Support Engineer – FMCG, DubaiOur client, a leading name in the FMCG sector are seeking an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join their local technology operations in Dubai. This is a key hands-on role for an experienced IT support professional with a strong grasp of systems, infrastructure, and cybersecurity best practices.The ideal candidate will be proactive, service-oriented, and capable of resolving a wide range of technical issues; from user support and network troubleshooting to incident resolution and vulnerability management. You'll also play a key role in supporting cybersecurity operations and ensuring compliance with global IT standards.Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and troubleshoot IT systems, applications, and infrastructure (cloud and on-prem), responding swiftly to incidents
  • Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement effective, long-term solutions
  • Support and maintain endpoint hardware (laptops, printers, servers) and assist end-users with day-to-day technical issues
  • Execute IT changes in a controlled, secure, and documented manner
  • Ensure systems are patched regularly and aligned with lifecycle management policies
  • Maintain up-to-date asset and configuration records in the CMDB
  • Support and enforce cybersecurity measures in line with global standards (e.g., NIST), including ISMA assessments and audit compliance
  • Collaborate with regional and global IT teams on security enhancements and threat mitigation
  • Recommend tools and improvements to enhance infrastructure stability and performance
  • Guide users during incidents and promote awareness of safe IT practices
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, IT governance, and ITIL-based service management processes
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in IT support, system administration, or network/security roles
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft MCSA, CompTIA, Cisco) are an advantage
  • Experience with ticketing tools like ServiceNow and hands-on knowledge of ITIL processes
  • Proficient in troubleshooting software issues (Office 365, Teams, email clients) and endpoint hardware
  • Knowledge of core networking concepts (LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPNs)
  • Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi, server patching, and backup processes
  • Familiar with endpoint protection tools and security incident response procedures
  • Ability to interpret logs and data to diagnose issues and identify trends
  • Strong documentation habits and a structured approach to problem-solving
  • Service-oriented attitude with excellent communication and time management skills
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
