Chargehand - Loading

• Overseeing and coordinating loading operations

• Ensuring that all goods are loaded correctly, safely, and efficiently

• Following all loading procedures and regulations

• Training and supervising loading staff

• Maintaining loading equipment

• Liaising with other departments to ensure smooth operations

• Ensuring that all safety regulations are followed

• Resolving any issues or problems that arise during loading

• Keeping records of all loading operations

• Conducting regular inspections of the loading area Assist in daily planning and organizing of assigned areas, ensuring manpower, materials, and equipment are available to maintain production and project schedules.

• Supervise the workforce in their daily tasks, acting on behalf of the Supervisor as required.

• Contribute and help communicate decisions, ideas, and methods to the team.

• Check ongoing and completed works to ensure that required standards are being maintained.

• Coordinate with the Supervisor to prioritize and allocate work to optimize the use of the workforce and available resources.

• Identify training needs of staff and deliver on-job training as appropriate.

• Participate in the disciplinary process as and when required.

• Report unsafe acts and conditions to your supervisor

• Do not carry out any task if you are not trained or authorized to do

• Ensure your competent and skill-based certificates are valid and communicate with the supervisor if getting expired.

• Take reasonable care for the health and safety of himself/herself and others who may be affected by their acts or omissions

• Cooperate with anything the employer does to comply with OHS requirements.

• Comply with HSE requirements communicated in HSE induction, Procedures, and policies.

• Lead as an example in front of workers by not violating any rules and correcting unsafe actions and conditions.

• Attend Group Safety Meetings, HSE Campaigns & committee meetings as and when required.

• Report unsafe acts and conditions to the HSE dept. using Intelex or booklets provided to you and monitor your targets and KPIs.

• Do not carry out any task if you are not trained or authorized to do so, and make sure the workers working under you are following the same.

• Participate in weekly or monthly HSE walkthroughs with your area HSE staff as per the plans.

• High School/ Diploma

• Safe Rigging & Lifting Operations (Certificate is Mandatory)

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Strong leadership skills

• Good physical condition and stamina
• Ability to operate loading equipment

• 1 year Experience

• At least 4 years of experience

• Skilled in specific trade supervised.

• Fluent in English

• Basic Computer Skills
