- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into comprehensive technical specifications for Banner implementations.
- Design, configure, and customize Banner modules, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Perform system upgrades and maintenance, including patches and updates, to enhance system performance and security.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Banner data and reporting tools.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Banner-related issues, addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Conduct testing and validation of new configurations and system enhancements, ensuring all changes meet quality assurance standards.
- Deliver training and support to end-users on Banner functionalities and best practices.
- Document system configurations, processes, and user guides for reference purposes.
- Experience: Minimum 7-10 years as a Banner SIS (Student Information System) Functional Consultant.
- Banner SIS Functional Knowledge: Strong expertise in Banner (Version 9) modules and add on components functionalities - Admissions, Student Records, Registration, Scheduling, Academic History, Academic Advising, Graduation, Banner Accounts Recievable, Banner Self Services, Degree Works, Courseleaf CMS etc.
- Configuration & Customization: Ability to configure and tailor Banner processes, user interfaces, and workflows to meet institutional requirements.
- Data Structure , Management & Reporting: Proficient in Banner database structure and strong understanding of tables, ability to manage student data and generate reports using Power BI, Argos, SAP BOBJ etc.
- Proficient in SQL and Oracle database ,and expertise in writing complex queries for data extraction, analysis, and integrity.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Experience developing test plans, conducting UAT, and validating system changes against business requirements.
- Functional and Technical Documentation: Ability to create and maintain detailed system configuration, process, and user manuals.
- Training & Support: Experience in developing training materials, providing end-user support, and ensuring smooth adoption of the system.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, collaboration, customer service orientation, and project management abilities.
- Beneficial Certifications: Ellucian Banner certifications, Agile SCRUM, PMP, ITIL Foundation etc.
