This pivotal role serves as the technical authority for all ECS-related subsystems across our UAV programs. The ideal candidate will drive technical strategy, innovation, compliance, and integration of ECS technologies into advanced aerospace platforms. As the ECS SME, you will guide multi-disciplinary teams, ensure optimal system performance, and help shape the future of autonomous aerospace systems.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & StrategyProvide deep subject matter expertise throughout the ECS lifecycle: concept, design, integration, testing, and supportDevelop ECS architectures for UAV platforms including avionics thermal management, cabin cooling, and environmental sensingServe as ECS design authority and participate in SRR, PDR, and CDR reviewsAdvise on materials, technologies, and trends to shape future ECS innovation roadmapsSystems Engineering & IntegrationDefine ECS system requirements based on operational, environmental, and mission-specific needsEnsure ECS integration with propulsion, electrical, avionics, and structural systemsManage ICDs, traceability matrices, and system verification strategiesPerformance Analysis & TestingConduct and oversee thermal modeling, CFD simulations, and cycle efficiency analysesDefine test protocols and support DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and functional qualification testingLead troubleshooting and root cause analysis during flight and ground testingCompliance & StandardsEnsure ECS designs meet industry standards including DO-160, MIL-STD-810, CS-UAS, and AS9100Support documentation and readiness for system safety, certification, and reliability analysisInterface with certification bodies and regulatory stakeholdersMentorship & CollaborationProvide guidance and technical mentorship to ECS and mechanical engineersCollaborate with software, avionics, manufacturing, and integration teams to achieve system-level excellenceRepresent ADASI in ECS technical engagements with customers and suppliersRequired QualificationsEducationBachelor's in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Thermal Systems Engineering (REQUIRED)Master's or PhD in Aerospace Systems or Thermal Management (PREFERRED)ExperienceMinimum 12 years in aerospace ECS design and developmentAt least 5 years in a technical lead or SME capacityExperience in ECS for UAVs, aircraft, or military platforms essentialTechnical ToolsCFD and thermal analysis tools (ANSYS Fluent, Thermal Desktop, etc.)CAD software (CATIA, NX, or SolidWorks)Experience with ECS technologies: vapor cycle, air cycle machines, heat exchangers, fans, etc.Knowledge of PLM systems, configuration management, and ECS documentation standardsIdeal AttributesStrategic thinker with strong business and technical alignmentOutstanding technical writing and presentation skillsSystems-level thinking with analytical and problem-solving strengthsConfident communicator who thrives in cross-functional, high-performance teamsWhy Join ADASIAt ADASI, you'll work with some of the brightest minds in the defense and aerospace industry.
