JPC - 4536Job Title: Forman – Hatch OperationsJob Location: Jebel Ali, Dubai, UAEEmployment Type: Full-TimeContract Duration: 2 yearsJob Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Forman – Hatch Operations to oversee and coordinate cargo operations, ensuring smooth loading and unloading processes at the quay and onboard vessels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining safety, optimizing workflow, and ensuring compliance with operational procedures.Key Responsibilities:Gang Operations:Review the hatch plan and manifest summary to inspect cargo, gears, and equipment before operations.Ensure cargo is placed as per the discharge order, considering crane capacity and cargo type.Verify cargo marks before discharge and report any discrepancies or additional requirements.Maintain strict safety protocols before cargo movement, ensuring proper slinging to prevent operational errors.Provide ongoing instructions to Forklift Operators on board, ensuring seamless coordination with the Winch Operator for efficient cargo handling.Quay Side Operations:Receive and implement the operations work schedule, ensuring all necessary resources are in place.Ensure that cargo loading and discharge is accurately recorded by the Tally Clerk.Coordinate with the Warehouse Operations Foreman to determine stacking patterns and storage arrangements based on cargo properties.Immediately report deviations from the plan, such as mixed or unmarked cargo, to the Cargo Vessel Foreman for corrective action.Adjust loading and discharge speed based on quay and yard traffic conditions to avoid congestion.Supervise the work of Forklift Operators, Tally Clerks, and Stevedores, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.Equipment & Gear Management:Coordinate with the Cargo Vessel Foreman to allocate necessary gears for vessel operations.Ensure timely return of gears to the store and maintain proper inventory tracking.Oversee the maintenance of gears, ensuring third-party inspections are conducted every six months and handling any breakdowns or damages.Assess the need for new gears based on usage and volume, coordinating with the Superintendent for procurement.Recommend the replacement of old or worn-out gears and prepare purchase requisitions for approval.Requirements:Proven experience in hatch operations, cargo handling, or port logistics.Strong knowledge of cargo types, discharge orders, and crane operations.Ability to coordinate multiple teams and ensure smooth communication between operators.Strong problem-solving skills to handle unexpected operational challenges.Excellent understanding of safety protocols and standard operating procedures in port operations.Proficiency in equipment and gear management for cargo operations.Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
