Headquartered in the UAE, we are committed to advancing the region's technological edge in defense innovation.The RoleWe are looking for a highly experienced Systems Engineer - Stability and Control to join our Engineering team at ADASI. In this role, you will be responsible for the analysis, modeling, simulation, and verification of flight stability and control systems for our next-generation UAV platforms. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe, stable, and agile flight behavior across all mission profiles, from launch to recovery. Your work will directly influence flight control strategies, vehicle handling qualities, and overall system performance in a defense and aerospace environment.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct longitudinal and lateral-directional stability analyses for UAV platformsDefine control surface sizing, actuator capabilities, and trim conditionsDevelop and maintain 6-DOF flight dynamics models in MATLAB/Simulink or equivalentDesign, tune, and validate autopilot control laws (PID, LQR, gain-scheduled controllers)Integrate aerodynamic and mass property data into high-fidelity simulationsPlan and execute V&V strategies using simulation, HIL, and flight testingAnalyze flight test data to evaluate control performance and stability marginsSupport wind tunnel, ground, and flight testing campaignsCollaborate with cross-functional teams in aerodynamics, avionics, software, and systems integrationContribute to safety assessments, certification reports, and compliance with airworthiness standardsRequired QualificationsEducation:Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Control Systems, or related field (required)Master's degree in Flight Dynamics or Control Engineering (preferred)Experience:Minimum 10+ years in aerospace or defense industryAt least 5 years of hands-on experience in flight stability and control of UAVs or aircraftCertifications (preferred):INCOSE ASEP/CSEPCertification in flight dynamics or control simulation toolsAwareness of AS9100D or ISO 9001 systemsTechnical ToolsModeling and simulation: MATLAB/Simulink, X-Plane, FlightGearStability analysis tools: AVL, XFOIL, Athena Vortex LatticeControl system design: Classical and modern methods (PID, LQR, etc.)Integration of CFD and mass property dataAirworthiness and stability standards: MIL-F-8785C, MIL-HDBK-1797, CS-UAS, DO-178CIdeal AttributesAnalytical thinker with deep flight mechanics knowledgeStrong communicator with technical documentation skillsSystems-minded with cross-disciplinary collaboration experienceHigh attention to detail and safety in flight-critical systemsProactive, solution-oriented, and comfortable in fast-paced programsWhy Join ADASIAt ADASI, you'll work with some of the brightest minds in the defense and aerospace industry.
