- Cultivate an environment of collaboration, space etiquette, and safety
- Collaborate with Faculty, Staff, and Students to ensure the successful execution of class projects and capstone presentations
- Contribute to the planning and setup of artistic installations, ensuring they align with the intended creative vision
- Provide technical support for art exhibitions and events within the Arts & Humanities Division.
- Maintain and operate video, projection, and lighting equipment.
- Assist in the installation and dismantling of art installations and exhibitions.
- Ensure the safety and security of equipment, artworks, and gallery spaces.
- Act as a resource for students, offering guidance on the technical aspects of their artistic projects.
- Liaise with external parties, such as the Project Space/Art Gallery team, regarding technical needs for exhibitions and overall technical support.
- Liaise with Internal parties, such as the Technical and Production teams, to arrange pre-production workflows, equipment lists, technical installations, and troubleshooting.

- Set up and operate video, and projection systems for exhibitions and performances.
- Troubleshoot Technical issues and provide on-the-spot solutions during exhibitions and events.
- Collaborate with faculty and students to integrate technology into their artistic projects.
- Manage equipment inventory and ensure proper maintenance and repair.
- Stay current with technological advancements and make recommendations for equipment upgrades and improvements.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely solutions to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Contribute to procurement of video, and lighting equipment to support academic and research needs.
- Participate in procuring new audiovisual equipment to support academic and research needs in the Arts.
- Act as an integral member of the academic support team for Arts Practice, Film & New Media, Interactive Media, Music, Theater, and Masters of Fine Arts.
- Assist students and faculty in realizing their creative visions by providing technical expertise and guidance.
- Offer workshops and training sessions to students and faculty on using AV technology for their artistic pursuits.
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate technical skills into the curriculum and course objectives.
- Participate in assessing student projects and capstone presentations with a focus on technical components.
- More broadly, support all educational needs of the facilities, faculty, students, and staff in support of teaching, learning, and research.
- Coordinate and schedule equipment usage for various events and exhibitions.
- Coordinate space use between departments to accommodate class and research activities.
- Ensure that all equipment is adequately maintained and in good working order.
- Supervise student assistants and other technicians.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace.
- Manage and maintain an inventory of audiovisual equipment, including regular maintenance and repairs.
- Liaise with the Arts Leadership Team on facilities management, workflow, and policy.
- Act as liaison between different stakeholders, such as faculty, students, academic staff, researchers, Arts Center Production Team and Academic Arts Leadership Team.
- Actively promote broader access to and use of the Scene facilities.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Theatre Arts, Audiovisual Technology, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in video, projection, and lighting systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of communication protocols, including DMX, MIDI, and OSC.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of lighting and video equipment in a gallery and exhibition environment, as well as for live events. Setups include but are not limited to video projectors, LCD screens, mixing desks, and multiple sound speakers.
- Excellent knowledge of Qlab is required.
- Knowledge of video mapping tools such as Mad Mapper, Resolume, and Touch Designer is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of woodworking skills and fabrication is desirable but optional.
- Extensive knowledge of lighting fixtures, accessories, and rigging techniques.
- Knowledge of electrical safety regulations and best practices.
- Experience working in an educational setting preferred.
