  • Provide technical leadership for rotating equipment engineering within FEED and Detail Engineering projects in the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Define and supervise mechanical design basis, codes, and standards for rotating machinery (pumps, compressors, turbines, drivers, turbines, gearboxes, etc.).
  • Ensure safety, reliability, and cost-effective solutions across front-end and detailed design phases.
  • Mentor engineers, manage interfaces with other disciplines, and drive quality and schedule adherence for rotating equipment deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the mechanical design and sizing of rotating equipment and associated auxiliaries for FEED and Detail Engineering.
  • Develop and review mechanical design basis, equipment specifications, datasheets, and technical bid evaluations for rotating machinery.
  • Perform and supervise calculations and analyses (e.g., pump head/flow, compressor performance, rotor dynamics, vibration, mechanical seals, bearings, lubrication).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO, NFPA) and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate interfaces with process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and civil disciplines; manage vendor and contractor drawings and inquiries.
  • Lead risk assessments and safety reviews related to rotating equipment (HAZOP/HAZID, LOPA, RAM analyses, MAHV considerations).
  • Review and approve technical deliverables (Equipment datasheets, MOC/Change notes, design change requests, technical queries).
  • Mentor and develop junior mechanical engineers; support staffing, training, and performance reviews.
  • Develop and manage execution plans, man-hour estimates, and budgets for rotating equipment scope.
  • Ensure quality assurance and documentation practices, including drawing standards, datasheets, and requisition packages.
  • Support field construction, commissioning, and start-up activities; address punch lists and as-built documentation.
  • Stay abreast of advances in rotating equipment technology and recommend value-added solutions.
Experience
  • Experience: 15+ years of experience in FEED and Detail Engineering and EPCM experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • ADNOC EPC/PMC experience are highly preferred
  • Demonstrated track record delivering rotating equipment design and integration on FEED/detail projects.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's of Engineering in a related field.
  • Professional membership or relevant certifications (e.g., PE/Chartered Engineer) are a plus.
  • Certification in rotating equipment, reliability, or mechanical integrity (e.g., MTM, CI) is advantageous.
Technical Skills
  • Strong background in rotating equipment design, selection, and integrity assessment.
  • Proficiency with mechanical design software and calculation tools (e.g., PV Elite, COMET, AFT Fathom, ANSYS for rotor dynamics, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with FEED deliverables, MOC/Change control, and document controls.
  • Knowledge of piping, instrumentation, and corrosion considerations as they relate to rotating equipment.
  • Experience with vibration analysis, rotor dynamics, seals, lubrication, and alignment.
  • Understanding of codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO, NFPA) relevant to rotating equipment.
  • Ability to perform risk assessments and safety reviews tied to mechanical systems.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
