  • Diagnose and treat Retinopathy of Prematurity and other complex retinal disorders in infants
  • Perform specialized procedures including laser therapy, cryotherapy, and intravitreal injections for ROP
  • Conduct thorough retinal screenings for premature infants in neonatal intensive care units
  • Collaborate closely with neonatologists, pediatricians, and other specialists to ensure coordinated care
  • Develop and implement treatment protocols to prevent and manage vision impairment
  • Provide expert guidance on retinal surgeries and advanced imaging techniques
  • Educate parents and caregivers on the risks, progression, and prevention of ROP
  • Stay updated on advancements in pediatric retinal care and integrate best practices into clinical work
  • Maintain meticulous medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations
Ideal Profile
  • Medical degree with specialization in Ophthalmology and retinal disorders
  • Fellowship training in Retinopathy of Prematurity or pediatric retina
  • Valid DHA, DOH, or MOH license or eligibility to obtain one in the UAE
  • At least 5 years' experience as a Consultant Ophthalmologist with pediatric retina expertise
  • Skilled in laser photocoagulation, retinal surgery, and diagnostic imaging for neonatal patients
  • Strong clinical judgment, precision in surgical procedures, and commitment to patient safety
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in neonatal care teams
