Incumbent may perform on shift and is expected to be on call for emergencies as required.Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.Controls medications by dispensing according toDOH requirements.Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals; counseling patients on drug therapies.Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols.Dispenses medications to adults and neonates after checking and counseling.Compounds medications and supervises its preparations.Checks prescriptions before it is dispensed.Dispenses and registers controlled and compounded prescriptions on their special books.Keeps custody of controlled medication and abidance with its laws and regulations.Spontaneous dispensing of some medications.Advises Physicians on equivalents or substitute drugs.Helps reviews drug usage patterns and suggests control when needed.Ensures the safety and security of patients and staff when it comes to medication use.
