Position SummaryWe are hiring a Financial Accountant - Middle East, responsible for delivering high-quality regional financial accounting services. The role supports fee-earners and business services professionals, ensuring compliance with internal policies, professional standards, and local regulatory requirements.This position requires strong technical accounting expertise, regional awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across jurisdictions. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and confidence working within complex finance systems are essential.Key Responsibilities1. Financial Reporting & Audit SupportPrepare statutory and management accounts for audit across the region.Prepare audit deliverables and schedules; coordinate audit documentation requests.Lead or support audit planning and closing meetings with external auditors.Travel regionally to support fieldwork and local compliance as needed.2. Regional Accounting OperationsAct as the first point of contact for financial accounting across Middle East offices.Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts.Reconcile trial balances for each office; investigate and resolve variances.Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting for partners and leadership.3. Controls, Tax & ComplianceEnhance and help implement control processes for general ledger governance.Support regional tax activities, including preparation of tax returns as required.Monitor and clear unallocated balances and suspense items.4. Budgeting & Stakeholder EngagementCollaborate with regional leadership and global finance teams on budgets.Track variances, commitments, and highlight financial risks.5. Projects & Continuous ImprovementContribute to finance projects, process improvement, and system rollouts.Provide input into cross-functional initiatives impacting regional finance.Qualifications & ExperienceRequired:Recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW).Minimum 4+ years' accounting experience in a professional services, multinational, or similarly complex environment.Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and professional standards.Advanced communication and organisational skills; ability to work at all levels.Resilient and able to work under pressure and to deadlines.High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader MS Office Suite.Preferred:Experience with 3E financial systems.Exposure to tax and compliance processes across Middle East jurisdictions.Proven track record in process improvement or internal control development.FOR MORE INFORMATIONCONTACT Elle Appleby
